The Staying Active team is dedicated to the over 50, to keep you happy and healthy. We have many things for you to do from joining in our friendship groups to singing and dancing.
The Staying Active Centres where you can meet new people and make new friends, offer a wide range of activities from crafts, art classes, computer training, crown green bowling, gentle exercise classes, presentations and talks. Each of the centres are unique within themselves. This is because we encourage you to decide what you would like to do and therefore encourage independence and well being. Claire and Tina are here to help you choose the centre which is best suited to your needs, along with a dedicated team of volunteers who will ensure you get the most out of your visit.
We also have intergenerational projects, where we work with local primary and secondary schools. If you enjoy singing for fun or fancy a bit of fresh air, where you can top up your gardening skills, then Heather is here to encourage you to get the most out of life and make new friends along the way.
If you enjoy dining out and would like to meet new people, we have a Sunday Lunch club who meet at Bradbury House on the third Sunday of the month, and a weekly pub club who enjoy a meal at a local pub alternative Wednesdays and Fridays.
If exercise is your thing, why not join our Fit as a Fiddle class which is funded by the Big Lottery! This is gentle exercises geared for the older person. There are classes all over Stafford which are growing all the time. Claire, Tina or Emma would be happy to advise you on your nearest centre.
