Fit as a Fiddle is a national project funded by the Big Lottery over 5 years to a total of £15.1 million. It is aimed at providing opportunities for older people to remain or become more active and healthy in later years.

With an ageing population, it's no fun living longer if you have lost your mobility and are stuck at home on your own, so we want to encourage people to grow old in a fit and healthy way.

In Stafford we have received funding to deliver Prescription for Health, which is about keeping older people active and eating healthily as well as helping to provide social activities for people to join in with.

This is an opportunity to experience new things, and possibly revisiting old interests, from gentle seated exercise to Tai Chi. Some activities will be taken to people who for whatever reason are not currently able to access them, for example, rural locations and sheltered accommodation.

One of the most important element of the Prescription for Health funding is FUN!!

Below is a  list of our Fit as a Fiddle classes, which are chair-based exercise and nutritional information and advise classes. The classes are an hour in length and cost £1.50 per session.

17-04-12 Unfortunately, due to a broken leg, Pat is unable to operate any of the classes with us below but is hoping to be back with us in June. Many apologies for any inconvenience.
